Just incase there are any people in the Stoke area that can enlighten me.

I was driving from Leicester to Stoke (on the A50) a couple of weeks back on a Tuesday morning. Just as I was approaching Stoke (going under a large tunnel on the A50) I had a quick scan on FM. A station was relaying Radio Caroline (The Maidstone. Kent, one) which was listenable to for around 5 miles going into Stoke. Has anyone else picked up this relay.

Never heard it myself, but apparently that relay has been on for years.

Amazing what you can get away with if you don't broadcast your own programmes but just relay other peoples. Unless of course, somebody complains and Ofcom take action as happened with the Fip relay in Brighton, correct me if I'm wrong.

I haven't heard that Radio Caroline relay, but I've heard other people talk about it. What frequency was it on? I'll have a tune about and see if I can hear anything.

Hi,

I've noticed a few stations missing from the west midlands list.

Sweet FM 106.8 (sister station to Kool FM if I remember rightly?) early 2000s

Wax 95 FM around 1999/2000 decent dance station

BCRS 95 FM 1992ish, think i still have a tape of this somewhere!

Pure FM 97.5 2008 Drum & Bass / breakbeat - haven't heard them for a few months now though.

I'm sure there are more missing too, I'll post again if I can remember any more!

Just remembered that Surge FM in Stoke were on 99.8 and used to broadcast a couple of years ago - 2007 is about right.
