Rush - Spirit of Radio

Predictable I know but a great opening riff.... :happy144 followed by Genesis, Spot the Pigeon on 12" blue vinyl with one of the best opening lines ever "who put 20 tons of shit on the foreign office roof"

I think it was Layla by Derek and the Dominos.

In fact, that was the first record I played on a number of stations.

Oh Blimey - Here we go then, it was on UK Radio 99.2 on Sunday 29th July 1990 9pm, I presented an all 80's show with first record being "Scritti Politti - The Word Girl".

Even remember the line up from that night :

1900 Paul Johnson
2100 Mickey Whitt
2200 Mike Harris
0100 Paul Johnson
0230 Close

Great Days !

This is a tricky one for me. For my first bedroom 50mW broadcasts when I was 15 - couldn't tell you but probably something by Special Ed or Paris (Hip Hop stuff) 'cause I remember that those were 2 albums I was listening to around then (1991ish).

Beyond that and having a 1watt station that I set up with a mate, I don't remember at all but it would've been some Jungle. Playing my first tune as a guest on a fully fledged and well established station - Felix "Don't you want me". That was only last year though. EDIT: Actually, that's wrong I did guest and play DnB on a Norwich station in 2001 or 2002.

:pirate Difficult one for me it was years ago.On a low power outlet in west bromwich that few people would have heard in approx 1975ish it would have been the Northern soul song "Footsie "by Wigans Chosen Few..
In May 1978 on Empire Radio shortwave it was the Moody Blues with "In the Begining "for some strange reason.........................Very Odd. :confused
