I thought Zen - recognised the style from the Dimension FM days.

(Willing to be wrong though - 17 years ago!)

Wasn't much different. Both worked well, in the 92.2 days it was often a case of what could be got quickly!

Someone's going to tell me I'm wrong here, and it was fucking years ago - so I'll answer it as best as I can.

The first Wrekin install on 106.6 which lasted a long time was a NRG 100 and a hi-gain.

Manor Heights was usually a 50, no point running more as the site was low.

When we did the frequency change to 92.2 and went back on the Wrekin (Christmas Eve 2002) it was usually 150, to start with until we started getting hit every fucking weekend - then the 50s started getting used again.

Right at the end, the weekend usually started started with a VFO 50, got raided early Saturday afternoon, then came back Saturday teatime with a PLL 150.

Looking back it it - was a 150 that much better from the Wrekin than a 50? Nah, not really....

A 50 from that height will only lack in a gaps. A 150 will fill those gaps and probably a few miles extra on the periphery. The aerial would help with the 50. A wise choice helps with those gaps but the periphery stays the same.
