Which transmitter site is best tower block or mobile mast sites?

Any ideas people.

Mast sites i heard people use batteries and sun panels to charge car batteries to power fm transmitter and laptop/pc

The best site depends on what's available and where you want to cover.

Assume rigs are always mains. Powerhouse in 2006 wasn't but that was very much an exception!!

powerhouse 2006 only used to run on a sunday for about 6 hours tho battery really is a waste a time unless you are running about 5 watts off a couple of 120amp leisure batterys then would run all weekend and of course would have to be massively high to get away with 5 watts :winking

I know, I was there... 40 watts RF, 2 x Tractor Batteries (seriously), on at 2pm, usually fell off air about 11 hours later... LiIon batteries might be the answer these days I suppose, but as you say - who could be arsed...

tower block for me, best if it has a mobile phone mast on it to attach your aerial to & lock your rig to in weather proof box. unless offcock dont want you on the dial, also make it hard for the rig thieves they are around still...

still get a buzz out of climbing masts and a nice signal mind you forget climbing this weather blocks better in the winter leave masts for the summer long time no see mate hope your keeping well :happy144
