Re: 105.2 West Midlands changing AGAIN
Rather a shame as 'Planet Rock is a damn good station 90% of the time of which I do listen in the car....being the other 10% - it is usually BBC WM with either Caroline Martin or Paul Franks. (I totally refuse to ever listen to Heart or 'Free-Radio' due to their constant repetitive looped format whi...

Re: Test transmission
107 hammering it badly...also TCR 106.8 coming over it in parts as well... plus the West Bromwich Albion FC use 106.9 for their football commentary in and around West Bromwich......ewww... a bit dodgy up that end of the dial. Low down on high power must be creating a lot of major RF in it's vicinity...

Re: 89.6 - Altar Ego
I have had the same problem - 89.6 & 89.7 clashing... however BCMR (89.7) in my area are wiping out Altar Ego due to me obviously being in the BCMR TSA range. I believe BCMR have moved frequency (for the umpteenth time in 2 years) to 89.4 to avoid clashing with Altar. :? Not sure if this is a tempor...

Re: 87.9 - BCMR
Looks like they were on that frequency for the one week... they have since moved to 89.7 for the last couple of months to possibly avoid any overlap on RSL's... wish I knew what playback system they use... I can't find a freebie that comes even close...

Re: Help with recieving signals
Don't use a folded dipole, just use an open ended one instead see if that's any better. What coax are you using, is it 75 ohm? If you are using a long run, then use sky or satellite cable rather than the cheap crappy brown TV coax you can get out of your local diy store. Next thing would be the con...
Re: Bandscan
It would be interesting to know the power and height of which they broadcast from. It is listenable in parts outside their TSA...then the signal is lost nearer Birmingham and then comes back again..... the studio looks like it is located at a house...
Re: Bandscan
Very very weak here..... 25/26db......at very best using 'narrowband' lots of hiss and distortion (then again...I am about 15 miles out of their TSA) wideband makes it unaudible.mix fm wrote:this is it 87.7 alum rock; shine star fm. https://www.facebook.com/Shinestarfm?re ... n=timeline
Re: Bandscan
I echo my statement to you earlier Steve.... (concerning the authorities) Certain stations switch off prior to intelligence of knowing the inevitable is on the agenda (if that makes sense)
Re: Bandscan
BCMR (87.9) wins my vote of the year....here are the reasons: (despite their frequent frequency changes) :? (sorry...just HAD to add that one!) 1: They offer a completely different output to any other 'pirate' or 'legal' station in this area. 2: Very professional jingles 3: BCMR play a lot of forgot...
