No, he didn't know the station was to close. No jocks were told untill the transmitters were off and then the first to be told was Colin Cook, the breakfast guy, so he wouldn't turn up next morning. A very battered unlabelled cassette with handwritten "Sunshine Theme" in red marker! I played it often at the end-of-day and marvelled at how it survived intact throughout with no tape stretching or dropping out.
