Canvey Radio

Canvey Radio were first heard in 1985. They mostly broadcast at weekends and could be heard on 93.1 FM.

The station was founded by DJ’s John Hanson, Jim Price and John Allen and soon attracted the attention of other DJ’s who provided other material and shows.
By 1987, they were experimenting with a second transmitter on 106 FM, and sometimes called themselves Canvey Community Radio, CCR.

Following several raids, the station finally closed down in 1988.
